Reclamation of the Sacred: Journey into Refuge, Presence and Love

  • Spirit Rock Meditation Center 5000 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard Woodacre, CA, 94973 United States (map)

Silent residential retreat with Thanissara, Kittisaro, Dawn Mauricio, Gullu Singh, Adam Stonebraker, and Djuna Devereaux.

Let’s deepen refuge and reconnect with what is most precious and sacred in this life and draw from teachings and practices that open us to the heart of compassion.

The retreat is informed by a synthesis of the Theravāda as transmitted through the Thai Forest Tradition and the teachings of Ajahn Chah and Mahāyāna practices and teachings around Quan Yin’s compassionate Bodhisattva Path. This includes a morning chanting and bowing practice, chanting several times a day and the retreat concludes with a Quan Yin Compassion Ceremony. The devotional practices invite an attitude of humility, respect and reverence that reconnects us to the sacred. The retreat will feature Dharma talks, meditation instructions, daily Yoga sessions, and group practice meetings with the teachers.

Retreat is open to all. Please note that the format of this retreat is different from many at Spirit Rock due to the emphasis on chanting, mantra and ceremony.
