Breathing Into Awakening: Dharma and Yoga

ONLINE
Breathing well is both vital to our health and forms the foundation of the path of awakening. Our day-long will combine Dharma, meditation, somatic movement, and yoga asana for an embodied experience of the Buddha’s teachings on mindfulness of breathing, or anapanasati. Exquisitely detailed in the Anapanasati Sutta, mindfulness of breathing is a profound process leading to the cultivation of calm embodied presence, joy, insight, and ultimately awakening. This practice is highly accessible and easily integrated into daily life.

Each movement session will begin with supine somatic movements to unwind tension and facilitate expansive breathing,  progressing into a grounding and energizing sequence of gentle yoga asanas. Our practices will focus on ease and enjoyment to balance and nourish the body, and rejuvenate the mind and heart. Participants will come away empowered to develop and deepen their own practice. All abilities and levels of experience are welcomed.
