Autumn is nature’s time to turn inward; leaves fall and energy returns to roots. Amidst the demands of daily life we can become stuck in constant outward growth. Our view may narrow and body movements become confined, as if fixating on a single star while failing to see the vastness of the night sky. In a day of mindful yoga and Zen practice we will study our perpetual forward movement and explore what it means to “take the backward step”; allow our breath to expand, our bodies to unwind, and our awareness to widen. In doing so, we nourish our own roots. We will dance with the innate presence available in every moment and return home nourished with a fresh perspective and rejuvenated spirit.
